5 Year Anniversary!

Has it been 5 years already?!?!?! Geez! Our vacation for our anniversary could not have come at a better time... things at work were going crazy and I was extremely anxious to spend a week relaxing. And, boy, was it relaxing! We planned to go on a cruise out of Tampa, FL to Grand Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico. We went with our friends, Rob & Katie!

On Friday, June 4th, we flew to Tampa, FL. The temperature difference was incredible! It was like a rush of heat the moment we arrived. We spent the evening looking around downtown Tampa, eating yummy sushi, and going out for drinks.

On Saturday, June 5th, we got to the Tampa Port to get on the boat for our cruise! We were SO excited!

The next day was a Day at Sea... relaxing on the boat and getting a tan! In the evening, we had our formal dinner. Here are some pictures of Garret and me; Katie and me; and Garret, Rob, Katie, and me!

On Monday, June 7th, we arrived at port at Georgetown, Grand Cayman. We had scheduled two excursions -- Swimming with Dolphins and the Turtle Farm.

We swam with dolphins first... our Dolphin's name was Capi and he was 18 years old. He was the Alpha male there... the instructor informed us that he was about 300 lbs. Big Boy! He was extremely cute and very nice! To start, we got to take pictures with him... him kissing us on the cheek, us kissing him, and dancing with him. The next time, we got to go out in the lagoon where he would push on our feet as we were laying on a board. He would push us all the way to the rest of the group. The next time, we went out in the lagoon and he would come by us upside down where we would hold on to his pectoral fins. It was amazing how smart he was! By different whistles and hand signs, he would do different tricks. He would swim like a shark and splash us with water! Before we left, we had the opportunity to buy the video that they took or buy pictures. It was extremely expensive ($20/picture or $60/video). We decided on pictures!

Haha! Cheeser smile... Dancing with Capi

After our dolphin swim, we walked across the street to Boatswain's Turtle Farm! The baby turtles were SO cute! We had fun!

On Tuesday, June 8th, we arrived at port at Cozumel, Mexico. We had planned an excursion for that day too, which was the Mayan Ruins of Tulum. Once in Cozumel, we took a 30 minute ferry to the mainland and arrived at Playa del Carmen. We then got on a bus and traveled to Tulum, Mexico. It was extremely hot when we arrived in Tulum; however, it was just amazing to see the ruins. After touring the ruins, there was a beach access. The ocean was crystal clear! It was super nice to get into the water after such a hot day at the ruins. We then ate some authentic mexican food!

Wednesday, June 9th was another Day at Sea... we were bummed that the cruise was almost over!

When we arrived back at port in Tampa on June 10th, we had a lot of time before our flight. We decided to go to the Florida Aquarium.

While on the cruise, we ate dinner with three other couples. We ended up spening some time with them while on the cruise too!

We had so much fun! We can't wait to go on a cruise again!!!
